Suffolk police are investigating two shootings into houses that occurred on Friday.
One of the shootings apparently was a botched attempt at an armed home invasion robbery.
Just after 8 p.m. on Friday, city spokeswoman Debbie George said, the victim, who lives in the 300 block of Hunter Street, said an unknown black male wearing a ski mask knocked at his rear door.
When the victim answered the door, the suspect said “Give it up,” George said. The victim slammed the door, and that’s when the suspect drew a gun and fired several AK-47 rounds at the house, George said.
Another shooting happened the same night in the 100 block of Charles Street.
Around 10 p.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting into a residence. Several victims and witnesses said they saw a black male fire a shotgun at a residence, George said. There were several small holes in the house consistent with birdshot from a shotgun, she said.
