Lakeland edged ahead of Norcom in this week’s Division 5, Eastern Region football power rankings, moving up a spot to second. The Cavaliers beat King’s Fork 53-3 on Friday while Norcom had a bye week.

Despite a 12-10 loss to Indian River, Nansemond River remains in the eighth spot in the ratings, although now tied with Green Run.

Lakeland travels to face 6-0 Grassfield this Friday night. Nansemond River plays at No. 7 Great Bridge on Friday.
