Great Bridge runs past Bulldogs

Great Bridge senior Adriell Mayes rushed for 241 yards and three of his team’s four first-half touchdowns as the Wildcats beat visiting King’s Fork in a Southeastern District contest Monday night. The Wildcats led 28-10 at halftime.
KF senior quarterback Matt Hommell rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Bulldog running backs Charles Clark and Danny Gromkoski added 85 and 69 rushing yards respectively.
The Bulldogs (1-3, 1-2) host Western Branch on Friday evening, with both squads having a short week to rest and prepare with playing Monday evening due to last Friday’s rainouts. King’s Fork beat Western Branch 20-13 a year ago.
