Oscar Smith shut out the Warriors (2-2, 1-2) for its 40th consecutive Southeastern District win Friday night in one of only two district contests that were played due to the storms in the area.
Oscar Smith quarterback J.J. Williamson threw three touchdown passes, one in each of the final three quarters.
The Tiger defense held Nansemond River senior running back LaMont Brown to 32 rushing yards. Brown gained more than 200 yards in back-to-back games going into Friday’s game. Oscar Smith held the Warriors to 0-for-6 passing and zero first downs.
Oscar Smith beat the Warriors 50-0 last season and had averaged 47 points per game in the last five years against NR.
Nansemond River continues in district play against Deep Creek, which fell 41-0 to Hickory Friday night, on Friday in Chesapeake.
