To the editor:

There is a small group of people out there that is doing everything it can to bust the unions. Why?

Could it be greed or arrogance?

I was a member of the postal union for 18 years, and I had occasional issues with them, because I disagreed with some of their ideas.

Yes, the union has it faults, but I supported them when I worked, and I continue to support them now.

Here are some reasons why we need the unions:

If you don’t, then look for your pay checks to be much smaller.

Your health care would be less.

Your schedule would be erratic.

What about your sick time and vacation time?

These are just some of the things the unions fight for.

This comment is not meant to degrade or belittle the migrant workers. But if there weren’t collective barging by the unions, you would be getting paid on the same pay scale as the migrant workers. Even now, union members benefit from the union.

If this is what you want, then let’s get rid of all collective barging.

Now vote with your conscience, not just along party lines.

Save the unions and your future.
