Ms. Evelyn Wooden was born March 20, 1959, and went into eternal rest on Aug. 30, 2011. A native of Norfolk County, Ms. Wooden was preceded in death by her mother, Corine Watson; her brother, George Wooden; and son, William Hale, of Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the Health Care Team for the Autumn Corporation (Autumn Care).

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Marc Dyer Sr., Dontae (Terrie) Carr, of Wilmington, N.C., Louis Foreman Jr., Dirrell Foreman; daughter, Rosita Medley, of Chicago; and one brother, Dexter Wooden, of Brooklyn, N.Y. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, and a devoted friend, Louis Foreman Sr.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Evelyn S. Square, pastor of Scott’s Revival Church, Franklin, Va. The processional will assemble at 2707 E. Washington St. Interment will be in the Carver Cemetery. Arrangements have been confided to the care of Crocker Funeral Home.
