Softball camp planned in Franklin

The Softball Division of The Stronger Woman is holding a skills development camp for players of all ages at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin Aug. 8-10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.
Alissa Smith, director of USSSA softball camps and clinics and a former assistant coach for Maryland and Bethune-Cookman, will be conducting the camp along with local college players and coaches.
Steph Wood, the founder of The Stronger Woman and coach of the organization’s Southampton Storm 12U softball team, and Sean Wade, coach of the Southampton Storm 14U team, will be instructors as well.
Cover 3 Football will provide lunch for the softball campers and any children from age 3-18 at Paul D. Camp, free of charge, as part of its Summer Feeding Program.
Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

The Stronger Woman is a non-profit organization designed to inspire females to develop permanent spiritual, mental, emotional and physical strength through athletic competition, camps, motivational speaking and mentoring.
Cover 3 Football was founded by former Southampton High and NFL defensive lineman Greg Scott in Franklin in 2009. The organization inspires and motivates youth to achieve their goals and conquer adversity through positive and passionate coaching and mentoring.
