Tokara Monodez Savage Sr.

Tokara Monodez Savage Sr., 34, of 1155 Cogic Square, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 23, 2011. He was born on March 31, 1977 in Suffolk, Va.

A native of Suffolk, Tokara attended Suffolk Public Schools. He was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Towanda Smith, and paternal grandparents, Charles Smith and Edward Lee Ricks.

Tokara leaves behind to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life, his wife, Marion Savage; three sons, Kenyatta Wood, Tokara Savage Jr. and Treone Savage; two daughters, Teaya Savage and Marion Savage; father, Edgar D. Smith; mother, Izona M. Savage; grandparents, Emma Ricks, Williams Ricks and Viola Ricks; 10 siblings, Rondell L. Savage, Tristan T. Savage, Edgar Smith Jr., Noah Smith, Timothy Smith, Toni Smith, Charity Smith, Sarah Smith, Mary Smith and Temeka Vallee; goddaughter, Arnasia Wood; special friend, Sonya Elliott; eight uncles; 11 aunts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Savage will be on view at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, from noon to 7 p.m. The family will receive guests at the residence at all other times. A service of remembrance will take place at Sixth Street Baptist Church, 324 Goodman St., by the Rev. Wilbur Adams on Friday, July 29 at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
