Suffolk police are attempting to locate one of their bulletproof vests after finding it missing from a police vehicle on Friday.
The vest, valued at about $339, apparently went missing during the week of June 13-20, when it was at the city’s fleet maintenance facility in the 100 block of Forest Glen Drive, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.
“When the vehicle was picked up, the officer’s ballistic vest was missing from the trunk of the vehicle,” she said.
City policy mandates that vehicles left at the facility for service be locked, George said. The incident currently is under investigation.
