King’s Fork Middle principal hired

The Suffolk School Board approved two promotions at its Thursday meeting.
Jennifer K. Presson has been promoted to principal at King’s Fork Middle School. She currently is assistant principal at John F. Kennedy Middle School, where she has served since 2008. She was the division-wide middle school lead teacher for English and social studies from 2003 to 2008. She taught social studies at Forest Glen Middle School from 1994 to 2003. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Elizabeth City State University and a master’s degree and educational specialist degree from the University of Virginia.
She fills the seat left open when Talmadge Darden died in May.
In addition, Antoine L. Hickman was named Director of Special Education. He currently serves as Coordinator of Special Education and was Supervisor of Instruction for Special Education from 2004 to 2010. He worked as a coordinator, counselor and teacher at the Southeastern Cooperative Education Program from 1994 to 2004. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University and his master’s degree and educational specialist degree from Old Dominion University.
