The FRC East is the Marine Corps aviation maintenance repair overhaul facility. It employs 3,400 personnel and averages an operating budget of $600 million annually.
Navy Rear Admiral Timothy S. Matthews, commander of Fleet Readiness Centers said, “We’re extremely fortunate to have Col. Mitch Bauman taking the “com.” Mitch has loads of fleet and acquisition experience to bring to this job, and he has had two years of XO experience to put him on the path to success.”
Bauman then addressed the workers at the complex.
“This institution exists for only one reason and one reason only,” he said. “It’s for (supporting Marines). I ask that your attitude be that the fate of Marine aviation rests upon your performance, and you can make a difference, you will make a difference in your area of responsibility. I want you to chase perfection.”
