Suffolk police arrested two teenagers on Monday on trespassing and drug possession charges after finding two plastic bags full of pot, along with an ID belonging to one of the teens.
Neighborhood Enforcement Team officers were called to a home in the 400 block of Wilson Street to investigate a trespassing complaint. When police arrived on the scene, one of the suspects ran and tossed something away as he fled.
According to Suffolk spokeswoman Debbie George, officers retrieved the item, a plastic bag containing 27 smaller bags of what they believe to be marijuana, and they caught the fleeing young man, 19-year-old Desmond Mitchell of the 600 block of Spruce Street.
They also found a second plastic bag of suspected marijuana on the ground. Lying on top of that bag was identification belonging to Jeffrey Jennings, 19, of the 2500 block of Cedar Lake Drive, George said in a press release.
Both Mitchell and Jennings were arrested and charged with trespassing and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, George stated.
