Wayne Goodwin Castello Jr.

SUFFOLK — Wayne Goodwin Castello Jr., 79, passed away May 15, 2011, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was born in Bangor, Maine, a son of the late Wayne Goodwin Castello Sr. and Betty Seeley Buff, and was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Barnett Castello. Wayne was owner of the Happy Horse Bar and Grill; Castello Glass Doctor; the Happy Horse Ranch; and was a former regional manager of Stewart Sandwiches for 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and an active member of the Holland Ruritan Club.

Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Bonnie Smailes, Lynne Swartz and Gay Spencer; one son, Dennis Castello and his wife, Patricia; one stepdaughter, Carla Venable; one sister, Gail Newman; one brother, Richard Buff; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Willis Switzer officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence, 8513 Pineview Road, Suffolk, following the service. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
