Up-and-coming musician Tara-Leigh Cobble will give a concert Sunday at James River Community Church as part of the dedication of the church’s newly-renovated worship space.
The church, located at 8909 Eclipse Drive, will host Cobble at 6 p.m. Sunday for a concert. She also will lead worship during the 11 a.m. service.
Tara-Leigh Cobble (known as TLC) is a dynamic artist who once burst her eardrum cliff-jumping. She began her career as a musician, but has since authored two books and relishes the speaking opportunities that have come as a result of them.
Her latest album, “Morning’s War,” features a mix of acoustic songs and melodies, including songs like “That Night,” “Copernicus,” “Burn” and “Faithful Still.” Cobble calls it “an experiment in time travel,” according to her website.
Previous albums have included “Playing Favorites,” “Here’s to Hindsight” and “Home Sweet Road.”
Cobble has since written two spiritual memoirs, “Here’s to Hindsight: Letters to My Former Self” and “Crowded Skies: Letters to Manhattan,” both published by Relevant. The first book was one of Relevant’s best-selling books ever.
Cobble also has contributed to “The Voice Bible” and “The One Year Life Verse Devotional.”
Cobble now lives in downtown Greenville, S.C., where she shares a house with three other female artists.
The public is invited to the church’s worship service and concert. The concert is free. The pastor is Claude Marshall. For more information, call James River Community Church at 238-2477.
