There’s a great chance of winning a $500,000 dream home in Chesapeake’s Stony Run Manor.
“The odds of winning are amazing,” said Grace Ramos, associate director for ALFAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Only 11,500 tickets will be sold for the fundraiser, and fewer than half have been sold so far.
The St. Jude’s Dream Home, located at 1101 Limestone Court in Chesapeake, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Friday and Saturday until April 24 for guests to tour. While there, they can buy $100 raffle tickets to enter to win the house.
The house will be raffled off for the benefit of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on May 1 at 11 a.m.
Dream house visitors also can enter a drawing for a chance to win a $10,000 Value City Furniture shopping spree.
“This is a separate drawing, open only to those who come out to see the St. Jude house,” said Stephen Quick, of Stephen Alexander Homes, the builder of the home. “No purchase is necessary to win the furniture. We just want everyone to come see this beautiful home that has been built with so much talent and love.”
Most of the materials and labor used to build the four-bedroom home were donated, Ramos said.
House raffle tickets also are available at Judy Boone Realty and any branch of Towne Bank. Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling 1-800-851-5323.
Those who purchase dream home raffle tickets will also be entered to win 22 other prizes valued at $1,000 or more each, Ramos said. The prizes include everything from a $1,000 Target gift card to fresh flowers for a year from Norfolk Florist.
The chances of winning anything are one in 500, Ramos said.
