Savage, Riddick to wed

With praise to God for bringing their children to each other, Mr. and Mrs. W. Thomas Savage Jr., of Suffolk, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Renee Savage, to Emory Nelson Riddick, of Corapeake, N.C. Emory is the son of Ms. Dinah Davis, of Corapeake, N.C., and Robert Riddick, of Sunbury, N.C.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Walter T. Savage Sr. and Rachel W. Savage, of Gates, N.C., and T.M. Collier and the late Evelyn J. Collier, of Suffolk, Va. The groom is the grandson of the late Ken and Novella Davis, of Rescue, Va., and Emory and Mary Belle Riddick, of Sunbury, N.C.
Miss Savage is a 2005 graduate of Lakeland High School, Suffolk, Va. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chowan University, Murfreesboro, N.C, in 2010. She now pursues her master’s degree in elementary education at Chowan. Miss Savage is employed by Hertford County Public Schools, where she teaches fifth grade.
Mr. Riddick is a 2001 graduate of Gates County High School, Gatesville, N.C. Emory is employed by Dixie Auto Parts in Sunbury, N.C., as an auto mechanic. Emory is also a past member of the Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department.
Bethany, Emory and their families look forward to their July wedding. The couple plan to reside in Corapeake, N.C.
