The Suffolk Art League is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 Suffolk Art League/Chip Picot student scholarship.
This scholarship is available to students entering grades 6 to 12 in the 2011-2012 school year. They must either live in or attend a public, private or home school in Suffolk.
The scholarship funds allow students to pursue their interest in the visual, performing or literary arts. They may use their scholarship funding for such things as taking classes or lessons, purchasing materials, instruments or equipment, or attending workshops or conferences.
Applications must include a completed application form, a brief essay by the student and a recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or other adult with knowledge of the student’s abilities.
Applications are available from any Suffolk school guidance office or art teacher (visual, band or chorus). They are also available at the Suffolk Art Gallery, 118 Bosley Ave., or by calling the Suffolk Art League office at 925-0448.
Applications are due April 29.
