Hilton to host ‘Doggie Night Out’

Many places are off-limits to dog lovers who want to bring their four-legged best friends along.
On Friday, however, they’ll have the chance to head to the Hilton Garden Inn in Harbour View, which will host a “Doggie Night Out” from 6-9 p.m. to benefit the Suffolk Humane Society.
“We don’t have a lot of opportunities to bring our best friends out with us,” said Kay Hurley of Suffolk Humane Society. “It’s exciting that this will be our second event this year that encourages people to come out with their dogs. It’s a positive move for Suffolk as a city.”
The hotel’s patio adjoining its American Grill restaurant will be open for dog owners and their vaccinated, well-behaved friends to enjoy the evening. A $10 entrance fee will include appetizers, beer and wine tastings and a ticket to enter various drawings.
Pet-related vendors will also be on site.
“We’re interested in helping the community, and feel that an organization like the Suffolk Humane Society can never get enough attention,” said Jill Marshall, Hilton Garden Inn’s sales coordinator. “We’re not a dog-friendly hotel, but we certainly want to open our establishment to support them.”
All proceeds benefit the Suffolk Humane Society.
The group promotes the welfare of companion animals in the community through sponsoring spay and neuter programs, placing homeless animals in loving, permanent homes and providing quality humane education with an emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
Visit www.SuffolkHumaneSociety.com each week to get the latest information about the group’s activities and to view the up-to-date photos of the adoptable animals at Suffolk Animal Control, 124 Forest Glen Drive or call Suffolk Humane at 757-538-3030.
Vendor space is free with the donation of an item for the drawing.
