TyQuan Sha’Ron Lewis, 18, of 936 Lincoln Ave., Suffolk, departed this life on Aug. 1, 2010. TyQuan was born on July 13, 1992 to Jeanette A. Lewis and Troy M. Richards. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvin Richards Jr. and several great-grandparents.
He was a rising senior at Lakeland High School and a member of the varsity football team.
TyQuan leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Jeanette A. Lewis and his father, Troy M. Richards, both of Suffolk; his sisters, Shanequa Qusha Lewis and Troyshana Devonne Copeland, of Suffolk; his maternal grandparents, Anne E. Lewis (Larry) and Thomas E. Lewis (Antoinette); paternal grandmother, Yvonne Richards, of Suffolk; maternal great-grandmother, Lottie Lewis and paternal great-grandmother, Gloria Richards, of Suffolk; four aunts; Barbara Lewis (Cook), Faye Lewis, Thomasena Lewis and Shandalyn Barnes (Dre’), all of Suffolk; three uncles, Kevin Artis (Renee), Thomas Lewis Jr., of Suffolk and Dewayne Richards, of Portsmouth; a dear friend, Takia Britt; two devoted friends, Daywone Collier and Turrell Chalk; three exceptional cousins, Antonio Smith, Demon Lewis and Shakira Lewis, along with a host of other cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
A home going service will be held Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at 1 p.m. at new Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries, 307 County St., Suffolk, officiated by Elder Trevon D. Boone, where Dr. Viola Parker is pastor. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
