Police are continuing to investigate the cause of an early Friday morning accident on Portsmouth Boulevard that claimed the life of a Suffolk woman.
Karen Denise Eley, 35, was the only occupant of a gold Ford Focus that reportedly left the eastbound lane of Portsmouth Blvd. and struck a tree near where the road merges into Route 58.
Although the cause of the accident remains under investigation, Suffolk Police officials have confirmed that neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the accident.
All lanes have reopened to traffic.
