Mr. Arthur Bernet Perkins, of Bank Street, departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late George Thomas Perkins and Anna Clementine Smith Perkins.
He is survived by four daughters and one son, Mrs. Audrey P. Murchison (Paul), Mrs. Barbara P. Atchison, Mrs. Priscilla P. Rells, Ms. Arletha Perkins, and Mr. Thomas L. Perkins, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a loving and devoted nephew and caregiver, Mr. James A. Perkins, two nieces, Mrs. Carolyn P. Phillips (Charles), of Suffolk, Va., and Mrs. Jacqueline P. White (Edward), of Hampton, Va.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 4 p.m., with Harris Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
