Ruth Warren Spivey, 87, of Suffolk, Va., passed away May 21, 2010. She was born in Perquimans County, N.C., the daughter of the late George Warren Spivey and Ruth Jordan Spivey. Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Patty Oliver, and brothers, Grover Spivey and Malvern Spivey. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served in the nursery for a number of years.
Ruth is survived by her sister-in-law, Gladys Spivey; niece, Judy Hodges; nephews, Alan Spivey and Michael Oliver; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Va., with the Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating.
