N. Suffolk farmers’ market returns

A summer favorite from last year is returning to north Suffolk.
After great success last summer, the Farmers Market at Governor’s Pointe will be open for business again this summer, starting June 4 and continuing every Friday in June, July and August from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
“We began them last year in July, but they were so successful we decided to host them for all three months this summer,” said Kathy Flythe, who owns Katody’s with her husband.
Between 20 and 25 vendors will be at the market and with local produce, baked goods, crafts, wine and beer tastings, fresh seafood, organic meats, flower arrangements, jewelry, barbecue by Bubba ‘N’ Franks and live entertainment.
“A favorite of mine are all the fresh veggies,” Flythe said. “They’re wonderful. Nothing canned, frozen or store-bought can compare.”
This year’s event was moved from Saturday to Friday in hopes that “people are more relaxed,” Flythe said. “We thought of it as an event that helps you prepare for the weekend and you can stop by on your way home from work, do a bit of weekend grocery shopping and pick up some good barbecue for dinner.”
