Suffolk Police are seeking a home invasion suspect who assaulted a man with a hammer last month.
Police have warrants on file for Joshua Allen Hulick, whose last known address is the 2700 block of Dominion Avenue in Norfolk, for malicious wounding, break and enter with intent to commit assault and simple assault.
Police say that on April 10, the suspect knocked on the front door of a Hunters Court residence. A child answered the door and went to get a parent, at which time the suspect entered the home, grabbed a hammer and struck the homeowner several times in the head.
The two began to struggle, and a roommate entered the room and swung a sword at the suspect, but missed and struck the victim on the back of the neck. The victim’s 8-year-old daughter also suffered injuries in an attempt to assist her father.
The suspect then fled the residence, police say.
Anyone who has information on Hulick’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
