PORTSMOUTH — Mamie E. Hall, 81, of the 2100 block of Myrick Avenue, Suffolk, passed away April 4, 2010 at Nansemond Pointe Rehab & Health Care Center, Suffolk. A native of Tarboro, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Bithal and Rosa Savage. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Cotton.
She retired after 15 years as the co-owner of M & J Thrift Store. She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church Orlando, Suffolk.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Vernon Hall, of Suffolk; one son, Joe R. Everett Jr., of Portsmouth; one sister, Retha Savage Caine, of Suffolk, one brother, Theodria Savage, of Capitol Heights, Md.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Greater First Baptist Orlando, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Henry G. Baker. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
