Junius Lee Holland, 80, of 1238 Exchange Road, Suffolk, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Johnnie and Johnnetta Holland. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Fannie Mae Holland, Edena Green, Loresea White, Albronia Clark; and brothers, Wilbur Holland, Harden Holland.
He attended Suffolk Public Schools. He retired from Suffolk Packing Company.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora W. Holland; two daughters, Alma J. Elam of Suffolk; special daughter, Sharon Holland of Alexandria; one son, Arthur Holland (Shirley) of Suffolk; one brother, James T. Holland (Ethel) of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Jamaal (Kyla) Holland of Washington, D.C., Chemere Elam, Domionqucia Jordan, Artajah Hayes, Dion Taylor all of Suffolk, Jasmine Holland of Wisconsin, Jordan Holland of Portsmouth, Travis Coates (Shannon) of Newport News, Gladys Peterson of Richmond; three great grandchildren; special grandchild, Gladys Parker; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Capehart, Rita Allmond, Maggie Holland; three brothers-in-law, Arthur Whitaker (Marie), Glen Whitaker (Vickie) and Walter Whitaker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in Healing Chapel Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Morris Allmond Sr. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 107 Jordan Avenue, Suffolk.
