Violet Stafford

Violet Edwards Stafford, 68, of Suffolk, passed away on March 8, 2010. A native of Isle of Wight County, Va., she was the daughter of William T. Edwards and Mary Elizabeth Dickerson Edwards. She was also preceased by her brother, Bill Edwards, and her great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Deziel. Violet was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church and the Electa Bible Class. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Guy Edward Stafford, of Greensboro, N.C.; her daughter, Judith Gay Lynn and her husband, Bill, of Ivor; sons, Russell A. Keith and his wife, Cheryl, of Windsor, Michael D. Keith and his wife, Kim, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Russell, Michael, Jessica, Alan, Skye, Cheyenne, Megan; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Lucas, William, Kirstynn; sisters, Helen Pittman, Edith Jean, Evelyn Bristow, Marion Burden and Toni Shank; brothers, Paul, Joe and Cecil Edwards.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Micah Voight officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
