Charges of DUI-related involuntary manslaughter and assault have been approved by a judge against a woman accused of running into a Suffolk man and another person who were crossing the street in Virginia Beach’s Town Center in November.
The Suffolk man, 23-year-old Hunter Richardson, was killed in the incident, and the female pedestrian was seriously injured.
On Thursday, General District Court Judge Steven Frucci convicted the woman, Natasha Herzog, 29, of Virginia Beach, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to take a breath test.
He also ruled that there was enough evidence against her to send her to trial in circuit court on one charge of involuntary manslaughter – DUI and one charge of malicious wounding while driving under the influence.
Herzog has appealed the district court convictions.
