Barbara Wilkins Brandon, 57, of Suffolk, Va., passed away on Dec. 24, 2009. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Earle Wilkins. She was also predeceased by her brother, Charles E. Wilkins, and her sister, Frances W. Saunders. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny A. Goodwin and Mary Katherine Moore Goodwin; a granddaughter, Madison L. Goodwin, all of Suffolk; mother, Edith Boyce Wilkins; sister and brothers-in-law, Katherine Ann Powell and W. Rufus Powell Sr. and Thomas R. Saunders Sr., and sister-in-law, Savilla Wilkins, all of Suffolk.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
