SUFFOLK — Margie White Iverson, 70, of the 400 block of Polk Street, died Dec. 9, 2009, at Sentara Obici Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Catherine Spruill and Matthew Spruill. She retired from Gwaltney of Smithfield after 30 years of service. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Harvard Iverson, a daughter, Lavone Moore-Sessoms (Gary), two stepsons, Herbert Williams (Brenda) and Melvin Williams (Cynthia), three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, one stepsister, two stepbrothers, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends.
There will be a private visitation for Mrs. Iverson. A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, Dec. 14 in the Rev. Melvin R. Boone Chapel of T.E Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, the Rev. Karl R. Marshall Sr. officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the residence at all other times.
