Shooting Star Gallery, located at 118 N. Main St. in downtown Suffolk, will host holiday pet photos from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 6, with proceeds benefiting the Suffolk Humane Society. Professional photographer Alan Gavalya will take photos of people and their pets.
The charge is $20.00 and includes an 8-by-10 color photo, and Shooting Star will offer discounts that day on optional framing. From Dec. 1 to Jan. 15, Shooting Star Gallery will also offer a 10-percent discount on framing to all Suffolk Humane members/donors.
“This is a great opportunity to get a professional photo of you and your pet that you will treasure forever,” said Heidi Giroux, executive director of Suffolk Humane. “It is also a wonderful way to help us help homeless animals this holiday season.”
The Suffolk Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the welfare of companion animals in the community through sponsoring spay/neuter programs, placing homeless animals in loving permanent homes, and providing quality humane education with an emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
