Farmer’s Bank will expand its operations in Suffolk this week with the opening Thursday of its fifth and newest location.
The Harbour View East shopping center location will offer customers a full line of financial services, including personal banking, business banking, loan and credit card services.
The branch will feature the latest in banking technologies, including a no-envelope deposit ATM, along with other community banking features that Farmers clients are used to.
“”We are thrilled to be opening our fifth branch and third in Suffolk,” Farmers Bank President and CEO Dick Holland stated in an announcement released by the city of Suffolk Monday evening. “With the growth Suffolk has seen over the past years, we really saw a need in the area for the unique service Farmers Bank offers our customers.”
Founded in 1919 by Shirley T. Holland, Farmers Bank has become a homegrown success story. With branches in Windsor, Smithfield and Suffolk, the bank holds more than $400 million in assets and offers a full range of state-of-the-art services.
“We are pleased that Farmers Bank continues to expand operations in the city of Suffolk,” Mayor Linda T. Johnson said. “Farmers Bank has been a good corporate citizen since locating in Suffolk in 2002, and their continued growth speaks volumes about their confidence in our city. I know this branch of Farmers Bank will be a welcome addition to northern Suffolk.”
The new branch will be located at 6255 College Drive, Suite L, in the Harbour View East shopping center. The bank will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and preview reception at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
