Suffolk Police have identified the dead man found in the brush alongside Collins Road Thursday morning.

Miles Burnell Cross, 21, was the victim of a homicide, an autopsy revealed. His last known address was the 8300 block of Orcutt Avenue in Hampton.

Police declined to announce the cause of Cross’ death or to say how long he has been dead.

The significantly decomposed body was found Thursday morning in the 100 block of Collins Road by a passerby. Police believe Cross was dumped there, city spokeswoman Debbie George said. About eight feet of brush hid the body from the road.
