Mother Martha Hill Faulk, 95, of 143 Maple St., peacefully crossed over on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born on Sept. 13, 1914 to the late Jerry Hill and Mamie Fitchett in Suffolk, Va.
She was educated in Suffolk Public Schools and retired from Planters Peanuts after many years of dedicated service.
She was a devoted and faithful member of Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served on numerous auxiliary boards until her health began to fail.
Left behind to cherish Martha’s beautiful memories are her devoted nephew, Niven Armstrong Jr.; niece and caretaker, Vivian Tucker; and a host of other family and friends.
Ms. Faulk’s visitation will take place from noon to 6 p.m., and the family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2 at the funeral home. A service of remembrance will take place at noon Saturday, Oct. 3 at Macedonia AME Church. The procession will leave from the residence promptly at 11:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
