Erma Winborne

SUFFOLK — Erma Linette Winborne, of the 2300 block of Whaleyville Boulevard, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest and peace on Sept. 17, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, she was daughter of the late Robert Frank and Annie Maude Rodgers Holland, and the widow of James C. Winborne Sr.
Mrs. Winborne retired as a cafeteria manager for the Suffolk Public School system. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Fellowship Club and Hospitality Committee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, James C. Winborne Jr. and his wife, Willetha D. Winborne, of Citrus Spring, Fla.; grandson, James C. Winborne III, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Keidre Winborne.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Ernest Simmons. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
