Hope Bradshaw is the fundraising chair for the “Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames” play being produced in November by Impact Suffolk.
Q: How did you get involved with Impact Suffolk?
A: I first got involved with the first “Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames” play. The things we do in the community, what better way to help out your fellow man?
Q: What do you like about Impact Suffolk?
A: The people from Impact Suffolk are from so many different denominations and cultural backgrounds. We love each other, we pray for each other. I love everyone in our organization. What we do for the community is most important. We share one common goal. If I could sum up Impact Suffolk and why I am involved, I’d put it in three words: community, neighbors and unity. We work hard to bring our community, churches and neighbors together with one purpose in mind and that is to spread the love of Christ.
Q: What about the barbecue fundraiser coming up soon?
A: It’s a Nixon’s barbecue fundraiser. It’s a quick way to make about half of what we need. Tickets are $8.50 for barbecue and fried chicken. We can deliver, or they can pick up or eat in. We’ll be delivering plates to the elderly. It will be Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church.
Q: What is your favorite Bible verse?
A: It is Psalm 25:4-7 — “Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember O Lord, your great mercy and love for they are from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O Lord.”
Q: Who has been an inspiration to you?
A: My husband. He keeps everything in check for me. He is there for me for anything and everything I do.
