Mrs. Martha A. Owens, of 810 Ashley Ave. (Saratoga), departed this earthly home on Aug.15, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy J. Owens; her parents, Walter and Hattie Futrell; and a daughter, Sarah Branch.
Her survivors include her grandchildren; Lisa Evans (Melvin), Erica Baker (Barris), Kimberly Blades, Jennifer Parker (James), all of Suffolk, Joyce McCrea, of Chesapeake, Dianne Watterson, of Prince George County, Dr. James Walter Futrell, of California, Morgan Futrell (Kay), of Texas, Taiwan Baker, of North Carolina, and Joanne Bazemore, of Maryland; and a host of other relatives.
A funeral of triumph will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at the Antioch United Christian Church, located at Kilby and Hull avenues, Saratoga. The Rev. Jarvis Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will be at the funeral on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. to receive friends.
