Herman Cofield

Mr. Herman Cofield, 67, of 1161 Nansemond Parkway No. 74, Suffolk, Va., died on Aug. 7, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va. He was a native of Rocky Mount, N.C. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert “Skippy” Cofield.
He was educated in the Rocky Mount school systems. He was a member of Greater Sweet Beulah Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Marita Cofield; his mother, Josephine Cofield Battle, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two daughters, Pamela Lawson, of Washington, D.C., Tonia Staton, of Frederick, Md.; two sons, Travis Cofield, of Suffolk, Va., and Antwon Cofield, of Hyatteville, Md.; one devoted godson, Ellis Trotter, of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, William Cofield (Gwen), of New York, Herbert Cofield, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one aunt, Minnie Cook, of Augusta, Ga.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Greater Sweet Beulah Church officiated by Elder Wallace Johnson. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk.
