Viola Dollar

Viola Oakley Dollar, 89, died July 21, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Mary F. Duncan Oakley and widow of Charles A. Wade Jr. and Edward Russell Dollar. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Pamela Lynn Wade.
Mrs. Dollar was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Suffolk Christian Women’s Club and former member of the Roxboro Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired buyer for Peebles, after 38 years of service.
Survivors include her son, Charles S. Wade III, wife Peggy; grandson, Charles A. Wade and wife Andrea, currently residing in Central Asia; great-grandchildren, Rachel Pamela Wade, Lucas Charles Wade; nephew, Alexander Newton, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with burial at 2:30 p.m. in the Burchwood Cemetery in Roxboro, N.C. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
