Viola McClenny

Viola B. McClenny, 87, died June 3, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Joel and Bessie B. Bunch, widow of James Joseph McClenny and grandmother of the late Lloyd Eugene Byrum Jr. Mrs. McClenny was a long time member of Magnolia United Methodist, the United Methodist Women and the Prime Time Singers. She retired from Planters Peanuts, after 37 years of service, as a computer analyst.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia M. and Lloyd E. Byrum, of Powhatan, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Lee and Brenda N. McClenny, of Suffolk; grandchildren, James Troy Byrum and wife, Sandy, Lisa Anne Byrum, Felicia M. Nowak and husband, Mark, Tracy M. Wray and husband, Norman, Debbi Byrum, widow of Lloyd Byrum Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kelley, Brittany, Lauren, Lindsay, Ashleigh, Matthew, Justin, Jarrod and Jessica.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. in Magnolia United Methodist Church by the Rev. Doris Bird-Madison with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Viola McClenny.
