Two John F. Kennedy Middle School students and their bus driver were taken to Sentara Obici Hospital Tuesday after a 16-year-old pulled out in the front of the bus Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, the school bus was traveling northbound on Peachtree Road around 7:20 a.m., when the young driver of a 1998 GMC Sonoma pulled from a parking space on the side of the road and moved in front of the bus. The bus hit the truck on the front left corner and bumper.
At the scene, two students and the bus driver reported injuries. They were transported via emergency medical services to Obici. All three had been treated and released by Tuesday evening.
The driver of the Sonoma — David Alexander Scott of Peachtree Road — was uninjured. He was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way.
