Deamos Turner

SUFFOLK — Deamos Guy Turner, 67, of 2606 Wood Creek Court, Suffolk, passed away March 28, 2009 at Waverly Health Care, Waverly. He was a native of Portsmouth and son of the late Deamos Guy Turner Sr. and Annie E. Vann.
He was a professional singer and a member of Greater Sweet Beulah Pentecostal Church of Suffolk.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Deborah Hughes Turner; three daughters, Tina Chapman, Deidre Turner and Minister Cindy Blount, of Newport News; one step-daughter, Darcel Hughes; one son, Demetrius Turner; four sisters, Dr. Catherine T. Barksdale, of Bronx, N.Y., Shirley Clemons, of Franklin, Virginia Bailey, of New Jersey, and Brenda Turner, of Sacramento, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; aunt, Orean Johnson; brother-in-law, Michael Richardson; sister-in-law, Loe Lei Little; niece, Clarissa MacAdoo; grand-niece, Paris MacAdoo; cousin, Delores Johnson; several other nieces and cousins and a host of friends.
A homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at Greater Sweet Beulah Pentecostal Church, officiated by Bishop Madison G. Copeland. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
