Former Saint helps ODU to 2nd in CAA

Old Dominion freshman Philip Brooks helped the Monarch swimming and diving team place second at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships Feb. 25-28 at George Mason University.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Brooks finished fifth (2:04.53). Brooks was one of three ODU swimmers in the top five and all three times were in the top 10 in ODU program history.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Brooks finished seventh (57.65). In the 200, Brooks cut more than five seconds off his best time of the season, which was 2:09.96. In the 100, he knocked nearly four seconds off his best time of the season, which was 1:01.26. Brooks’ two results totaled 26 of ODU’s 589 team points.
