George Felton

George T. Felton, of 340 Hazelton Road, Gates, N.C., died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Britthaven of Edenton, Edenton, N.C. He was a native of Gates, N.C., and son of the late James and Sarah Williams Felton.
He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn their loss two loving sisters, Mary Hatcher and Eva Brewer, of Norfolk, Va.; one loving nephew and caretaker, the Rev. Stanley Wiggins (Mary); three other nephews, the Rev. David Wiggins (Bernice), of Gates, N.C., Jeffro Felton (Martha), of Hernando, MS, and Ambros Felton, of New Brunswick, N.J.; 10 nieces, the Rev. Sarah Faltz, of Norfolk, Va., Eunice Bennett (Winston), of Portsmouth, Ruth Mitchell and Bishop Mavis Goodman (Walter), of Suffolk, Eva Goodman, of Gates, N.C., Evelyn Goode (Roy), of Greensboro, N.C., Clarine Zachery (James), of Chesapeake, Va., Ella Felton, of Williamston, N.C., Lois Felton, of New Brunswick, N.J., Edith Britton, of South Boston, Va. Eva Williams, of Nixion, N.J.; and many great- and great-great-nephews and -nieces, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at New Piney Wood Chapel in Drum Hill, N.C., officiated by the Rev. Richard Curry. Interment will be in God Garden Cemetery.
