Shari Stagg

Shari Danielle Stagg, 24, of 1420 Sierra Drive, Suffolk, departed this life on Feb. 1, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Shari was a graduate of Lakeland High School and received her certificate in early childhood development at the Pruden Vocational Center. She was employed at Northrop Grumman as a material clerk. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was a former youth choir member, junior usher, and Youth Council member. She was presently serving as a children’s ministry assistant.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Mikayla A. Stagg, of Suffolk; her mother, Rita Gatling Brinkley; her fathers, Luther Stagg Sr. and Theophulis Odom, of Suffolk; step-father, Benjamin Brinkley Jr.; sister, Satasha Taylor and stepsisters, Ticia Cooper, Dionne Palmer, and Trilla Tucker, all of Suffolk; brothers, the Rev. Travis Deon Gatling, Luther Stagg Jr. and Aaron Odom; stepbrother, Benjamin Brinkley III, all of Suffolk and god-brother, Michael Liggins, of Portsmouth; grandparents, Harry and Mary Coleman, of Maryland and Robert Earl and Rosa Boone, of Suffolk; great-grandfather, Leo Bailey, of Decatur, Ga.; godparents, Michael and Angela Liggins, of Portsmouth; devoted aunt and spiritual grandmother, Doretha Beamon, of Suffolk; special friend, Daronte Thorpe; and a host of aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Shari’s life will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Feb. 6, 2009 at noon, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Anthony Copeland, pastor. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
