Mary Hinton

Mary Letha Hinton, of 6829 Elwood Road, Suffolk, passed away Jan. 21, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hinton, son, Lester Ray Artis, and stepfather, James Boone.
She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where she was a former member of the Usher Ministry and choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Mary Lee Boone, of Suffolk; one daughter, Loletha Collins, and her husband, Malcolm, of Suffolk; two sons, John E. Hinton and James Hinton, of Suffolk; three sisters, Barbara Wilson (Alfred), of Chesapeake, Sandria King (William), and Glenda Boone, of Suffolk, Sandra Adkins and Barbara Adkins; eight brothers, Frank Jones (Alice), Henry Artis, of Suffolk, Wilfred Boone (Vernell), of Virginia Beach, Norman Boone (Peggy), Glen Boone, Floyd Boone, of Suffolk, Andrew Boone Sr., of Chesapeake, James Adkins, of Hampton, Clarence Adkins and Harrell Adkins; six grandchildren, Maleta Collins, Tameka Collins, Kendra Hinton, Jasamine Hinton, James K. Hinton Jr. and Jamonte Wiggins; two great-grandchildren, Jovawn Collins and Javion Collins; devoted cousins, Mildred Artis and Frances Faulk; devoted friend, Janie Ward; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 26, 2008 at Piney Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Larry Parker. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Church Cemetery.
