Annie L. Knight, 76, quietly slipped into eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Center.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Annie, a native of Nansemond County, was born to the late William Ernest Taylor and Beatrice Daisy Lewis on March 12, 1932.
Annie was married to the love of her life, Harvey Lee Knight Sr. over 57 years. They were united in marriage on Jan.13, 1951. From this union six children were born. She was predeceased in death by their first born, Synda E. Knight.
She was predeceased in death by the following siblings: brothers William Taylor; Ernest Taylor and Arthur Taylor; and sisters, Edith Taylor and Vernice Taylor.
Annie leaves to cherish fond memories her husband Harvey Lee Knight Sr., three sons, Harvey L. Knight Jr. (Patricia); Vann M. Knight, of Suffolk; and Dwayne Knight (Melvonia), of Colonial Heights; two daughters, Diann Worrell and Cozette Knight, both of Suffolk, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, three brothers; Robert Lee Taylor, of Suffolk; Theodore Taylor; and Earl Taylor, both of New York, five sisters, Dorothy Thompson and S. Vanessa Skinner, both of Suffolk, Catherine Taylor and Rosa Lee Hart, both of Maryland, and Elizabeth Brock, of Colorado.
Mrs. Knight will be on view from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28 at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at 113 Marshall Ave. at all other times. A funeral will be held in her honor at noon, Monday, Dec. 29 at Tabernacle Christian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Carlton Upton, pastor. Interment will immediately follow at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery.
