Rose Goodman

Sister Rose McCutchen Goodman passed away peacefully in the late evening of Oct. 30, 2008. She was born June 17, 1952 in Suffolk, Va., to the late Manning McCutchen Sr. and Geneva Edith Scott McCutchen. She was a faithful member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church. She also served on the executive board of the Children’s Center as vice president, and the Virginia Legal Aide Society. . Sister Goodman’s life’s work was nurturing children in transition. She was a licensed foster parent for Hampton Roads area-wide foster care and adoption programs.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Jewel S. Goodman, Koren S. Goodman and Breionna Neva’Rose McCutchen Goodman; two goddaughters, Johnetta L. Carroll and Abrea J. Perry; two brothers, Manning McCutchen Jr. and Theodore E. McCutchen; one sister, Gloria McCutchen Ricks (Stephen) and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Missouri Baptist Church, located at 2020 Lake Cohoon Road, officiated by the pastor, the Rev. Ronnie Boone. Sister Goodman will be eulogized by Bishop C.V. Russell III, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church. The family will assemble at the residence at 512 Ashley Ave. in the Saratoga community for the funeral processional beginning at 10 a.m. Harris Funeral Home, located at 685 Carolina Road, Suffolk, has been entrusted with the homegoing.
