Ms. Shirley W. Snyder of Suffolk is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Michelle Renee Rhodes, to James D. Gossip, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Gossip of Jackson, N.C.

Miss Rhodes is a 1992 graduate of Isle of Wight Academy and 1997 graduate of

Radford University.

She is currently employed as the clinical coordinator in the coronary intensive care unit at VCU Health Systems in Richmond.

Mr. Gossip received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Common-wealth University and his masters of business administration from East Carolina University.

He currently serves as vice president with First Citizens Bank in Richmond, where he specializes in receivables financing.

A November wedding is planned at St. Luke’s Church in Smithfield.
