Mrs. Carrie Lee Hunter, 86, of 308 Webb Street, died Aug. 30, 2005 in Chesapeake Health Center. She was a native of Southampton County. She was the daughter of the late Eddie Warren and France Ferguson Warren. She retired from the Suffolk Health Department as a custodian. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she was a former usher. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Warren and Jesse Warren
She is survived by four daughters, Estelle F. Wilkins and Katina Davis (James) of Suffolk and Joyce Hunter and Tracey Wilkins (Karl) of Portsmouth; a sister, Ruby Byrum of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren, Vanessa Ford, Shaun Bess, Danielle Best, Sherita Hunter, Terrell Hunter, Aja William, Jazmine Wilkins, Tiara Hunter and Robert Townsend and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 2, 2005 in Oak Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Anthony Copeland. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
